Review Comment:
   This method signature is problematic because it uses three general purpose 
types... thus the call-site one is left to trust that the arguments make sense. 
 I suggest removing this / make private.

Review Comment:
   This method signature is problematic because it uses two general purpose 
types... thus the call-site one is left to trust that the arguments make sense. 
 Cold be ameliorated by a name like `addContentWithType` which suggests the 
order.  Or just remove/inline.
