Exactly, I don't think disabling this cache will do much good. What is probably
better is a) to get rid of the commons implementation, and b) to use soft/weak
references for keys/values so they get evicted if the memory usage is reaching
critical levels.
Can't we start using Guava? It has a pretty nice caching implementation to
offer[1].
