EdgeManagerDescriptor isn't nullable. I'll change the patch to check that.
bq. Is the partitioner name @nullable?
It isn't. There's checks in place in the individual Outputs which use the
partitioner (similar to the way keys/values are checked). A unit test to check
the partitioner being set to null also exists.
