moving messages between folders should work, but it may be that a broken
MUA would move the file without giving it a new file name, and thus
confuse mbsync's UID tracking, which in turn causes a UIDVALIDITY
discard. you may have more luck with the AltMap option (and the
mdconvert tool for existing boxes). fwiw, mutt moves messages just fine.

moving messages should work just fine.
folder metadata changes will not propagate properly this way, either.
