*Purpose:* SAN Storage Administrator -
The main responsibility of the role is to
perform operational support, capacity management,
and provisioning of the SAN environment
for the customer. This will include problem
diagnostics/resolution, storage request
processing, capacity planning, and continuity of
business functions as it relates to the
SAN environment. From a day to day relationships
perspective, the person will have to
interact with team members both locally and remotely,
work with vendors for problem resolution,
with Systems Administrators for storage problem
diagnosing, and with peer SAN storage team
on issues and new hardware deployments.
Furthermore, the person will work with
internally clients on BAU/project requests to perform
upfront planning and analysis of the
request to ensure is meets guidelines as to SAN
amounts and to define the proper SAN
solution, from a platform, capacity, and performance
perspective. Finally, the person will work
to drive the procurement process for SAN
infrastructure, which including defining
the financials with the client from both a chargeback
and green dollar perspective.
Required:-
• 5+ years experience working in the SAN
Environment.
• Experience working with EMC
Symmetrix/VMAX environment.
• Experience working with EMC FAST
Experience working with EMC SRDF and Timefinder.
• Experience working with Cisco SAN
Switches.
• Experience working with Brocade SAN
Switches.
• Experience working with Hitachi
Enterprise Class Storage Arrays.
• Experience working with virtual SAN
environments.
• Experience working with EMC
Clariion/VNX Experience working with IBM XIV. Experience
working with Netapp SANScreen.
• Experience working with AIX, Solaris,
Windows, Linux, VMWare within the SAN
environment.
• Experience with capacity planning
within the SAN environment.
• Experience with performance analysis
within the SAN environment.
• Good documentation skills required.
• Very good working experience with
excel.
• Very good interpersonal and
communication skills.
• Very good problem solving skills
• Four year degree or equivalent
technical/professional experience.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
Brazilian/Portuguese language skills is a plus.
- Experience with budgeting is a plus.
- Experience with procurement is a plus.
- Working with EMC Centera is a plus.
- Working with HP-UX within the SAN
environment is a plus.
