The position of SAS Administrator is to provide support for SAS application
and Business Intelligence servers by maintaining the application environment
and supporting the users. We are looking for an experienced professional
with SAS administration skills for a SAS 9.1.3 SP4 (Base and Business
Intelligence) environment. The Administrator will be responsible for
installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the SAS V9 environment,
which includes SAS Metadata Server, SAS Enterprise Business Intelligence
Server using Xythos as Platform Suite, SAS Enterprise, SAS Data Integration
Studio, and other SAS products running on Solaris platform.
This person will also participate in production software deployments,
upgrades, capacity planning, backup strategies, as well as software/hardware
integration planning. Will coordinate troubleshooting and make
recommendations for configuration of the SAS application (SUN Solaris) and
operational use. Will provide support and expertise on Hummingbird Exceed.
Will coach and mentor team associates on UNIX and SAS and help them develop
a deeper understanding of the tools.
The SAS Administrator will work with a diverse team and a multitude of
technologies. This position also offers the opportunity to work with IT and
non-IT business units to ensure that the network, server as well as security
infrastructure and its systems and processes are aligned with tactical and
strategic information management initiatives. Strong analytical,
communication, technical teamwork and interpersonal skills are mandatory
*Required Skills:*
-Must have experience with SAS Business Intelligence Suite 9x - Includes -
Enterprise Guide, Information Delivery Portal, Information Map Studio, Web
Report Studio.
-Platform administration with SAS Management Console and administration of
SAS client applications
-Detailed understanding of the use and administration of most SAS tools.
-Knowledge of SAS architecture and operational workings.
-Planning, executing, and monitoring the SAS BI platform security and data
archival solutions
-Ability to research and recommend technical designs and architectures to
support requirements.
-Creating usage profiles and models to help drive SAS architecture.
-Packaging, deploying, and configuring SAS environments per recommend
architecture.
-Strong Unix knowledge and troubleshooting skills
-SAS programming experience for data management, SAS Macro and PROC
statements.
-Knowledge of tools and techniques to troubleshoot and debug SAS issues on
UNIX platform.
-Experience with SQL query language using SAS Access for Oracle and SQL
Server.
-Expertise on configuring security LDAP / AD with SAS Metadata Server.
*Key Responsibilities:*
- Establish best practices for managing the SAS environment
- Maintain awareness of new SAS releases, patches and upgrades. Install as
appropriate.
- Monitor the SAS server for resource utilization and act on incidents.
- Monitor storage growth and work with user areas to develop purge criteria.
- Provide guidance and assistance to SAS developers on operational and
technical issues.
- Provide guidelines and establish data and metadata security.
