Skills. *Job Description:* Consulting Role Consulting through end of year *Position Title: *Senior Windows Architect for Micro Focus Platform *Job Description: * Individual will be responsible for architecting a consolidated Micro Focus platform hosting business critical applications for business areas such as Wealth, Prime and Ref Data. The project is focused on migrating 600 TB of data, 8000 plus jobs and online system from Mainframe to Micro Focus running on windows 2003 platform. The architect will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the consolidated Micro Focus environment with focus on isolation, automation and performance tuning. Create and implement a strategy for the Windows Server space management (SAN & NAS), interact with IT staff or vendors in testing, operational support and troubleshooting of complex system hardware and software problems. Implement disaster recovery processes and procedures. Performance tuning of servers and related systems. Act as a technical resource to the IT staff and systems users. Develop, communicate, and monitor the operational standards and procedures for the MS Windows based system. Perform all routine administrative and operational tasks. *Skills Required: * * * • B.S. degree or equivalent in a Computer Science related field. • A solid understanding of Windows Operating System • Good PowerShell and/or Perl scripting desirable, development background with ASP.NET/C# is a plus • Keen troubleshooting and problem solving ability (i.e. parsing event log, sysinternal tools, analyzing memory dumps etc) • Technical understanding of windows infrastructure services (e.g. AD, ADAM, GPO, CIFS, DFS, windows clustering etc) within the enterprise. • Understanding of SAN/NAS technologies. • Understanding of schedulers such as AutoSys. • Familiarity with messaging such as MQ Series/JMS • Active directory and good understanding of authentication and authorization system. • Experience engineering, marinating and supporting large complex shared environment with proper isolation for individual business • Must be able to work effectively with client and other systems technical staff, consultants and vendors.
