Halo ITCenter,
Saya tengah belajar memahami Restore dari Incremental Backup dgn menggunakan
NTBACKUP bawaan Win XP. Untuk itu saya mencoba sbb:
1. Saya buat file text bernama Test.txt, berisi text:
"Ini Line 1"
2. Lalu saya Backup dgn NORMAL BACKUP, ke file Test1.BKF.
3. Lalu saya rubah file text tersebut menjadi:
"Ini Line 1"
"Ini Line 2"
4. Lalu saya Backup dgn INCREMENTAL BACKUP (bukan Differential Backup), ke file
Test2.BKF.
5. Lalu saya HAPUS file Test1.BKF
6.Lalu saya melakukan RESTORE dari file Test2.BKF tersebut.
Saya me-restore ke folder lain, namanya ZZZ.
Pada RESTORE, pilihan yg saya pilih adalah: "Replacing existing file if they
are older than the backup files" (Sebenarnya pilihan ini tidak ada pengaruhnya.
Saya utarakan agar tidak ada pertanyaan)
HASILnya adalah : di folder ZZZ terdapat file Test.txt yg berisi :
"Ini Line 1"
"Ini Line 2"
Yang saya HERAN dan PERTANYAKAN disini adalah:
Kenapa Restore BISA berhasil ??? Padahal menurut teorinya saya HARUS merestore
dari NORMAL Backup dulu, kemudian barulah me-restore Incremental Backup.
Sewaktu Restore proses TIDAK ditanyakan samasekali "mana NORMAL Backupnya ?".
Bahkan sudah saya HAPUS di langkah ke-5 diatas.
Adakah rekan yg bisa menjelaskan ?
