Never, ever do code in a JSP file. JSP is for presentation only !
Not an advice, but a rule !

I look in my crystal ball and I see, I see,
I see lots of illegal characters in your PDF.
Newlines and spaces, that were in your JSP and
that are now also in the binary file.
Look at your JSP-file (the code AND the result),
do you see them too?

No?
Then look at what the FAQ tells you about JSP
and binary output...
