Hi Leonard,

Somehow I never received your response directly but
happen to see it in the archive.

Anyway, I am trying to come up with a utility that can
compare the two PDF files. I am OK to have utility
with limitations.

My understanding is that the success of this effort
will depend on how the two PDF files were generated.
For my environment, the PDF files are supposed to be
relatively simple in contents and will have only text
information.

I was thinking of kind of normalizing the contents by
removing the formating info (though not sure if that's
feasible and how I would do that) and then compare the
contents only.

I'll definitely appreciate your inputs.

regards
Praveen

You mean manually using Adobe Acrobat to do it, or
with a text editor? If so, it is pretty
straightforward...

Or are you talking about writing software to compare
two PDF documents? If so, it is quite a complex thing
to implement correctly due to how PDF works....I've
attempted multiple attempts to solve the problem and
it is certainly solvable but each options has pros and
cons...
