This is a follow up from a message I posted last week. After I updated
Adobe Reader to 8.1.2, I had several vendors say they were unable to read
the pdf purchase orders that my client was sending.

These pdf's are created using iTextSharp, opened in AR and then emailed as
an attachment using the AR menu. Nothing had changed in the program, so I
was suspicious about the AR version.

The pdf opened with no problem on the clients machines, but they all had AR
v8.1.2 installed. The AR message was that the file was "corrupt and could
not be repaired". Finally I got one of the vendors to tell me his version
number which was 4.0. I walked him through an update to v8.1.2 and then he
could read the pdf.

So, it seems that updating Adobe Reader will solve the problem, although
this is difficult to do with technically inept vendors who just want to get
their order and are just suppliers to my client.

My itextsharp.dll is v 4.0.3.0. Does itext refer to a version dependent
Adobe dll or something that causes this open failure? I can't figure out why
else they are suddenly un-openable after an AR version update.

Regards,

Rick
