The problem is the pom file. When I see a pom file, I assume that the project is set up as a Maven project. So does NetBeans. So after NetBeans checks the project out from Subversion, it sets up a Maven project for it. When I say build, the jars do not get built, as NB finds no contents specified for the build.
IntelliJ IDEA has similar problems. I check out, and when I go to set up the project, I tell IDEA that I want a Maven project baed on teh existing pom.xml, please. Off it goes, and the result is less convincing that with NetBeans. Nothing happens. Wile, I know something about ant, I know nothing about maven, so I am dependent on the ease-of-use, automatic features of maven, whcih don't seem to be working. >From what you have said, I get the feeling that I should be ignoring the >pom.xml file and setting up an ant-based project. However, that may confuse >NetBeans, which tries mighty hard to make sense of the pom.xml file. Maybe I'm completely wrong here, which is why I was looking for an indication of how the Eclipse project setup works. There used to be some such documentation on the old site, but I can't find any now.
