Hey Bill, >The tone Bruno uses in ALL his replies is gruff, rude and with a considerable >air of arrogance. He has never made me feel that > he actually wants to help. Although I had my share of differences with Bruno he was/is always fair and helped thousands of people including me. The part of your answer which I want to refer is 'he has never made me feel' (you used it twice). What is important to you - that somebody makes you feel that he wants to help you or if he actually helps you? Just browsed over the initial mail and Bruno actually did sent a lengthy reply, did he not? So don't be a cissy and man up. > But as you say, it is a SERIOUSLY complex piece of software engineering. > That is precisely why we require a little help. A little help? Ok don't have the time to fully read and analyze your technical questions however just judging by the length and Bruno's answers it seems much more than that. You want Bruno to do your homework for you? Then you can "buy" consulting time from iText corp. If not, try to put your problem in a short question, e.g. "I searched the PDF Spec 1.7, iText in Action and the iTextSharp source code but could not find the settings "Magnification and Open to page" - I'd be grateful if somebody can help me in that matter and/or advise where I can find information about this." That is a short and easy to read question where people who dealt with that matter will help you. But in case of your post I would have stopped reading after i scrolled down 2-3 mouse wheels...
