What do you mean by "font properties of PDF"? A PDF doesn't have "font
properties". If there is text in the document, then each drawn "string" of
text has a Font associated with it. Is that what you mean?

That's explained on p448 (look for title "Inspecting fields at a low
level").
The example shows you how to find out if a field is a password or a
multiline field,
but checking if the field is read-only or required is done the same way.
