After spending a couple days trying to resolve a background transparency issue with IupImage, adding the IM based IupLoadImage() call saved the day. Unless you plan on image manipulation under program control (color mask changing), Loading PNG images is convenient. IMHO IupImage() only loads .BMP (bitmap) image files under Windows.
