I have some difficulties with playing video from my PVR350 directly
from /dev/video0 using mplayer. After a few minutes, the screen gets
updated very slowly and will hang shortly after. I can play DVD's
without problems. When I do "cat /dev/video0 > file.mpg" and "mplayer
file.mpg" I do not have any issues either.
I have the same problem with mplayer reading directly from the
video0 file on the same hardware. It just grinds on /something/ in the
stream and then it just gets worse and worse. The A-V number in the
console just gets higher and higher. The best results I got was with
-nocache -framedrop (which does not crash my MPlayer obviously). This
is MPlayer-1.0pre7try2... hey look same version as you wtf? I'm NTSC,
but I doubt that makes a difference.
