Yes, I tried both with coldplug. I tried it at the boot level and
default level.  And still nothing.  I can also delete coldplug totally
from booting and do a /etc/init.d/coldplug start and still nothing. 
Argh, this is so simple and yet so difficult.  Thanks for the help
