ivtv-0.6 uses the tuner/tveeprom modules from the kernel instead of 
supplying its own versions of these modules. Unfortunately, that does 
mean that support for newer tuners is slower to arrive than it used to 
be. In this case your tuner is not yet autodetected properly in 2.6.16. 
This will be fixed when 2.6.17 arrives.

In the meantime the easiest way is to load ivtv with the module option 
tuner=50. That will force the correct tuner.
