replying to the above, a year and a half later... the above mplayer command works for me but, obviously, has limitations such as: * no pausing, ff-ing, etc. * playing a dvd from a dvd drive only. (I tried the above with *.vob files stored on the hard drive and got choppy audio - any suggestions here are welcomed.
