Hi,

I have posted this on the users mail list, but have had no help. I hope
maybe if any of the Developer team can please help me out?

I am using IVTV drivers, primarily with MythTV, which up until recently
worked perfectly. I did a re-install a couple of weeks ago, FC6 (kernel
2.6.20-1.2948.fc6 #1 SMP) and since then I have had a really weird problem.
Most of the time the video is fine, but if text comes up on the screen such
as a screen bug, ident or test in an advert, the picture starts to flicker
and scramble and the sound gets really choppy. This is really confusing me,
because it is not text overlaid by the PC, but text in the channel I am
watching.

I am using the SVHS input on the card, a Hauppauge PVR-150MCE, which is
being fed by a UK Sky Digital Decoder/set top box. I have checked the video
signal coming from Sky and that is clean. The same problem occurs if I use a
terrestrial antenna and watch analouge free-to-air channels. It is not Myth
as far as I can tell as I have tried Mplayer to play video directly from
/dev/video0. Also I can used Cat to grab some video and the same thing
happens.

This is not something I have seen happen before, and I have tried 2
re-installs since to see if that helps, but it is always the same. Can
anyone make any suggestion as to what might be going on. I have tried
disabling Hyper-Threading which I saw was mentioned in one post, but that
has had no effect. There is nothing in any of the logs to indicate a
problem.

As I mentioned, I'm running Core 6 on a P4 3ghz with Hyperthreading. I've
got 512mb of Ram, and 200gb of hard disk. ATI Radeon X300 lo-profile video
card using the ATI official drivers (also tried FC's drivers with the same
result). The effect is the same if I am using DVI, VGA or S-VHS output on
the video card. I installed IVTV using yum and the ATRpm's repository as
recommended on Jerod Wilson's Fedora-Mythology guide. This is always what
I've done before with out this occuring.

Everything seems to get loaded alright, here is the log regarding that :
