Ok, I can see the logic in that. But !VIDEO_HELPER_CHIPS_AUTO should not be checked anymore. It now works correctly as ivtv was merged with mainline. While on the subject of ebuilds... Almost all people will want the userland utilities installed but many will not need the ivtv-fb or saa717x modules. Can building of the saa717x module be put under a use flag so users can choose not to have it build.
