Try: $ cat /dev/video1 | mplayer - as that seems to work better than $ mplayer /dev/video1 on my machine. (Maybe OS buffering helps?) But mplayer's playback is often jerky/non-linear: normal rate, stop, fast rate, normal rate, stop ... Looking at the "modprobe cx18 debug=32" and "strace -o foo mplayer /dev/video1", I'm pretty sure that mplayer's problems are not related to select()/poll(), as mplayer doesn't appear to call them for the fd of the cx18 device node. Mplayer always gets the 2048 bytes it asks for on every read(). > There is the matter of the > sound being at half the level of the pvr250 but I can crank up the > amplifier for now. Yeah the sound from my HVR-1600 is softer than from my PVR-150MCE. -Andy _______________________________________________ ivtv-devel mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-devel
