ok driver loaded, /dev/ looks ok I got rid of modules out of old kernel
directory, made sure all of v4l in kernel .config were listed as modules
and recompiled kernel, recompiled cx-18 drivers and loaded up ok but
when I try to use start it looks for firmware directory, I don't know
much about this maybe you can point me toward a link that tells what
files I need to get off the drver disk and where they might go..here is
my dmesg:
cx18-0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx23418-apu.fw
cx18-0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug firmware directory?
cx18-0: Retry loading firmware
cx18-0: unable to open firmware v4l-cx23418-apu.fw
cx18-0: did you put the firmware in the hotplug firmware directory?
cx18-0: Failed to initialize on minor 0
cx18-0: Failed to initialize on minor 0
cx18-0: Failed to initialize on minor 0
cx18-0: Failed to initialize on minor 0
kernel communicates nicely
this was the driver cx18-mmio-fixes-81edee142f9c, just modprobe cx18
and it loaded up.
