Strange, 

This is the version reported by mplayer:
MPlayer 1.0pre5-3.3.2 (C) 2000-2004 MPlayer Team

rpm -q mplayer: reports
mplayer-1.0-36_pre5.rhfc1.at

which is the atrpms version, and it definatly has ivtvosd support.

rpm -V mplayer  reports.
prelink: /usr/bin/mencoder: at least one of file's dependencies has
changed since prelinking
