do you have bttv in /etc/modules? If so replace it with ivtv. If not who is loading bttv? I followed Jarod's guide. except that I've put the module related info in /etc/modprobe.d/ivtv instead of /etc/modules.conf.d/ivtv Check your modprobe related doc in /usr/share/doc and in the man modprobe.
