The Hauppauge PVR-500, unlike the PVR-250, is a PCI-X card. That is, looking at the card edge, it has 2 slots cut in it, whereas the 250/350 only have one. The 250 can not be placed in a PCI-X slot because it does not have this extra slot, and is mechanically prevented from being inserted. The 500 obviously works fine in Linux when placed in a PCI/33 slot, but when placed in a PCI-X slot will freeze the system when the ivtv module is loaded. Does anyone have knowledge of the driver as how to modify it to work in a PCI-X slot?
