I have been running 2.6.10-1-k7 since it made it's way into Debian and compiling against /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.6.10-1-k7 with no problems using just about every 0.2.0-pre and rc package I have tried. So I don't know what this alleged major f*up is. The only suggestion I have to offer is to switch to the /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.6.10-1-686-smp directory make sure .config is there and do 'make oldconfig' then try compiling the ivtv driver again.
