I would be willing to send my pvr500  off to Jarod or Chris too if
that helps. (it shows up as a type 57)  I am in Texas, let me know.

I saw Chris request of register dumps, but I don't know how to do that
on my Linux box.

Looked up Jarod's box and it is an Intel Chip.  

PSU: Antec TruePower 480W
Motherboard: Asus P2B-DS
CPUs: Dual Pentium III 600MHz
RAM: 4x 256MB PC133 DIMMs 

I wonder if the nforce chipset in our mb's is contributing to the problem.
