Hurray!

This works great for me. I'm playing full screen divx & xvid content, without dropping frames, without any tearing.

Turns out -fs doesn't work for me. mplayer complains about a bad drawable. I play my movies using:

mplayer mymoviefile -vo xv -vf scale=720:-3,expand=720:576

scale=720:-3 scales the video up proportionally untill the width is 720, and the expand stuff adds black to the top and bottom, effectivly the same as fullscreen.

I've had the green issue once, but also have been able to play video's at non full height and non full width without going green.
