PVR350, 0.3.5m, 2.6.9 kernel, slackware 10.1 (nothing fancy).
xorg version 6.8.1.
I can record and play mpeg2 streams just fine using the /dev/video* interface
or through the x11 driver. xvinfo gives me the following:

operations supported: PutImage

However whenever I try to use mplayer (1.0pre7) with xv I get signal 6
(SIGABRT). Any pointers or clues?
# mplayer -vo xv -ao alsa -ac hwac3, crossroads.avi
MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: vo_check_events
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
