In short can I use a PVR 350 as a passthrough device with this driver now and retain recording functionality at the same time?

I'm not sure about this. I _think_ that it should be possible.

BUT: I tested the passthrough feature some time ago. I noticed a slight shift between video and audio. With audio and video out of sync, the passthrough mode was not usable. I remember that the shift amount was variable from "session" to "session" (don't know how to describe it).

I posted a question to this list and the answer was something like: "The driver only sets a flag in a h/w register. So the driver can't fix the problem."

I don't know if someone else noticed the shift, I don't know if it is fixed in the current drivers. Just make sure that audio and video are in sync in passthrough mode before you put any effort in parallel passthrough and recording!

Greetings,
  Siegmar
