Hi everyone,
I've got a fresh install of FC4 with an M179 to try to build a MythTV backend.
I've followed the Myth(TV)ology setup as much as I could (kudos to Jarod for
this site), but it still references FC3. The only major deviations I've taken
from this guide are using yum instead of apt for package installation, and
building/installing ivtv from source (the repos for FC4 kept dying on the kmdl
packages). I've got everything installed and error free, but my tuner input
gives me nothing but static.
I've had this same card working perfectly on FC3, following the same guide.
But I think that some of the FC3 apt repos changed, because I tried install
FC3 first, and had all sorts of problems installing ivtv/mythtv, so I decided
to move to FC4.
The card's composite input works fine now, and I've tried the coax cable I'm
using on a TV, producing a good signal. There's definitely a change in the
display when I connect and disconnect the cable (although its always
unintelligible), but changing channels through ptune-ui.pl or mythtv doesn't
change the display. I've changed the inputs from 1 through 7, although 4 is
definitely my tuner input, and I've searched the mailing lists for similar
problems. Here's my stats:
