We are using some PVR150 MCEs and we have noticed that the bitrate of the
output mpeg is way higher than expected. No matter what is set for
bitrate, bitrate_peak and bitrate_mode we are getting 10Mb/s streams. When
we used PVR250s we could set the bitrate as required. This is causing
considerable grief for some STBs.
This happens on all drivers I have tried, in particular, 0.3.2h and
0.3.7c which I have just tried.
Turns out this was caused by my start up script which loads the drivers then
issues a bunch of ivtvctl commands to configure the card, then runs the app.
Putting a small delay after loading the modules before the ivtvctl commands
fixes the problem. I guess that the drivers had not completly initialised
before the ioctls were being actioned.
