The previous bad cards behaved the same with Windows also, so I'm guessing Hauppage has quite a few bad PVR500s out there. I'd caution anyone out there thinking about buying one.

Okay, first time I guess I included too MUCH info. I've trimmed down the

I have just installed FC5 on a machine with a Gigabyte motherboard (no Via
issues) and AMD Athlon XP 2200+. This machine has an older Hauppauge WinTV
MJPeg capture card, and Hauppauge PVR-500MCE and a pcHDTV HD3000.
I did a full update on all packages yesterday, and then afterward installed
the following:

I have also attached the dmesg and lspci output to this message.
Things generally seem to work, I got xine and related packages from livna, and
ivtv and related packages from atRPMS.
Presently, I can tune both tuners on the PVR-500MCE, the devices are
recognized at /dev/video2 and /dev/video3.
cat /dev/video3 > /tmp/test1.mpg produces good output on all channels tested
cat /dev/video2 > /tmp/test2.mpg produces static-y video and audio on all
channels tested.
Do I have a bad board? I bought this a few months ago for a machine which I'm
just now getting around to configuring as a PVR. If the board is bad, will
Hauppauge warranty it?
What I'm hoping is that I've somehow just misconfigured it, or perhaps I need
to apply a patch (or possibly downgrade my ivtv driver? It appears to be the
most recent released).
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
