Axel Thanks for taking the time to reply. You are spot on with the problem and the solution!! I did manage to find out about it by googling but didn't know hjow to cancel/update my own previous post (never used one before). I had followed a guide to update the kernel, but it still seeemed to leave some 586 stuff behind which upset the ivtv install.
All is ok now (although I have another problem which I'll post about later if I can't fix it.) Thanks again RJ Axel.Thimm wrote
you probably hit a bug in the installer which installed i586 kernels on i686. Therefore the kernel and kmdls don't match in arch. See http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bugs/FC6Common#head-e0676100ebd965b92fbaa7111097983a3822f143 for explanation and how to fix it (e.g. replace the kernel with the proper one) -- Axel.Thimm at ATrpms.net _______________________________________________ ivtv-users mailing list [email protected] http://ivtvdriver.org/mailman/listinfo/ivtv-users
