Hi all,
I have a myth system setup using a pvr350 for capture and tv-out and it
all works fine. I have the following software
* Kernel 2.6.9 with the ivtv new tuners patch
* mythtv 0.16 from mdz's Debian packages
* ivtv versions 0.2.0-rc3c and 0.3.2a, both work fine with just
the 350
The hardware is
* pvr 350
* ABIT NF7-M motherboard
* Athlon 3200+ CPU
* 512M RAM
Just before Christmas I added a pvr-250 to the system. However I find
that all the recordings skip and are sped up when played via the pvr-350
(like bits of the stream are missing). I get this if I just use dd
if=/dev/video1 of=/dev/video16 or if I playback a recording in myth.
I see plenty of:
ivtv: OSD: DMA xfer from 0xb7d770cc of 196608 bytes failed with
(-512) offset = 0x000f40c4, total 1196228
in my logs. With the 0.2 drivers I also saw some "ENC IRQ OVERFLOW:
Stealing a buffer" messages but I'm currently booted with the 0.3
version so I haven't got one to cut and paste.
Has anyone else seen this and have any advice or ideas? Is there anymore
detail I could supply?
It's a long shot but I did install the two cards in slots right next to
each other, I don't suppose this could be causing bus, IRQ or DMA
contention or something? I'd move it to confirm but that involves
grinding a little bit of the case out so that the PVR connectors fit so
I don't want to do it unless someone who knows more than I do suggests
it, or I get desperate...
Ian.
