That release is the problem! VFS is splitted into 2 parts:
commons-vfs-1.0.jar and commons-vfs-sandbox-1.0.jar
(see the new on http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/vfs/ )

The sandbox jar contains the webdav functionality, which is needed to
compile ivy (webdav).
The first jar is available on the apache download site and ibiblio. The
sandbox jar isn't available: it isn't on apache, it isn't on ibiblio. Also,
no nightly build is available neither. If the sandbox jar was availabe
somewhere, there wasn't a problem. If you just change the revision of the
VFS dependency in ivy.xml to "1.0", you'll notice that ivy doesn't compile
any longer.

The snapshot used at the moment is rather old and contains both the core
and the sandbox part. Gump tries to use the latest VFS code, which is
splitted into core and sandbox. But since sandbox isn't available, gump
cannot compile ivy. But anyway, we should also try to use this VFS 1.0release
instead of a VFS snapshot.

Other solutions are:
- place the commons-vfs-sandbox-1.0.jar somewhere accessible through http
(but this won't solve the gump problems)
- remove the webdav related code from ivy (which is actually a workaround
to make VFS work with http-client-3).

We can also put this code in a separate source directory (like src/ext for
instance) and do not compile it until we find a solution.

Guys, is it relevant/helpful that commons-vfs-1.0 was
released recently?
