I was talking about user authentication. (That's what the authreg table
is for.)
Users use passwords to authenticate, not certificates. (At least in
jabberd2 - we did not implement SASL EXTERNAL support for user
authentication.)
I proposed a possibility to enable/disable user account on flag
('active' field / account-disabled error) and timespan ('valid_till'
field / credentials-expired error) basis.
