Oliver,

the "Field saving options" do not affect the order of the fields.

It is sad to hear that the project has problem with programmer capacities -
maybe it would help to make the donations page more visible and/or add a Flattr
button? (Or maybe the problem is not in the money?)

Anyway, from what you are saying, it sounds like it does not make much sense to
create a feature request for an additional tick-box under the field saving 
options?
(Unfortunately, I have no experience in Java development, so I cannot help 
myself.)
