May I ask if you followed the steps in the announcement?

f you are going to try this version, please save your preferences:
Options -> Preferences -> Export preferences.
If JabRef does not start, you can send us your preferences and we can
investigate that issue. In case you are not relying on your
preferences, you can reset them by starting JabRef with java -jar
JabRef-2.11.jar --prdef all -n. Issues reported and resolved by
resetting the preferences:

https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues/282.

Meaning: Did you export your preferences and reset them for testing?

We really would like to see preferences JabRef cannot deal with...
