Ah! Is that documented anywhere? Massively useful functionality that 
would have saved me huge amounts of effort in manually converting 
Unicode to escaped Latex had I known about it .

Logically, conversion should run on all fields. I suspect some journal 
names, for instance, contain accented characters. I presume there is no 
technical reason to restrict this?

OK. So 50% of my heart's desire. Any prospect of the functionality being 
pulled out to separate "Unicode to Latex" and "Latex to Unicode" menu 
items? :-)
