Thanks for that link Vasi.  I seems we have similar interests.  The 
12f509 project I had in mind is to measure the temperature in my outside 
battery box and switch my wind mill to power some 12 volt heaters.  The 
more that I look at it I think the 509 may not be enough chip :-)
There is a lot more I want to do, now.

I read somewhere (I read a lot but never remember where I read it), that 
a 1.8432 MHz crystal would be a good choice for 9600 baud.
