I've spend some time to (better) understand the alarm feature of the rtcc module, and I think "I've seen the light". Herewith I return a slightly modified version of your program (with the current rtcc_hw library). The led blinks 5 times with 10-second intervals.
The API of the new rtcc_hw library will be somewhat different, but I think it is worth the effort. It'll be more user friendly.
