How about this: Add the following comment to the top of the file: spi_master_hw.jal "Note: William does not particularly like the refactoring of this file without his consent, and much prefers SVN version 1537, however, since Seb and Matt feel strongly that the changes are absolutely necessary, and as a practical matter, Seb has final control over what actually gets placed in JALLIB, William has agreed, as a special exception, to allow to Seb to revise this file as Seb deems necessary."
