The initial explanation offered was that they weren't flushing the output
buffer when they needed to. They made a fix for this in the source code,
but I tried that and the performance problem persists.

I'm stuck on version 1.x and may have to seek a commercial alternative. )-:

Could the developers come to explain what is the matter? Are our
configuration wrong or other things.
In my P4 1.8G,512M PC , It took me more than 15 minutes to recieve a 5MB
message ! From a linux server using qmail on the local network ,it cost
only 2 seconds !
  I can't believe it!
I've test james2.0a3 and 2.1a1-2002-9-19. Using file and DBMS repository.
