1. "-ba" and "nara" are used rather interchageably, but "-ba" has a
greater feeling of ambiguity to it than does "nara".
2. "Doo shite" means something like "what is it?" or "what's
wrong?". "Doo yatte" means "how does one do X?"
3. "Suru" means, of course, "to do". "Yaru" means the same thing, but
it's a more informal expression. For example, "yaroo ze!" = "let's do
it!" To say "shiyoo ze" would seem rather timid as an affirmation.
4. "Shite mo" is used to mean "even if", as in "Rikai shite mo,
dekimasen." = "Even if I understand it, I cannot do it." The use of "-
te mo" is often used as a contradiction. "Shitara" is used to
mean "if sthg. is done". Progressive "-te" + "-tara" is used as a
conditional whenever one is confused as to whether to use any of the
others. For example, "Shittara, tsutaemasu." = "If I knew it, I'd
explain it." One can use "-tara" as a verbal conjugation to imply the
meaning of "if" should a better one not be available at the time.
