This problem showed up on comp.lang.java.programmer ... unresolved.
However, at least one person thinks it is not jserv but rather solaris 7:

In the end, I ditched Solaris 7. Myself and another collegue decided
it was the OS itself that was at fault, rather than JServ. We are now
running it fine on the same box, with the same version of JServ and
the same servlets without a hint of this trouble. It is also working
on an intel machine running Debian linux.

I have heard through the grapevine that sol7 was released in a hurry
without proper testing. This sounds about right from my experience
with it: nothing but trouble from day one.

Sorry I can't give you any more help on this. My employer wouldn't
give me an extention on my deadline to get the project finished, so I
couldn't properly solve it.
