Preamble: I run Apache 1.3.4 on Linux 2.0.36 with mod_ssl 2.2.2,
mod_perl 1.18,
and mod_jserv 1.0b3. JVM is 1.17a. Everything is compiled
as DSOs.
I have the white papers sitting in a drawer next to me, and
read them.
I am having a lot of trouble getting Cocoon to run its examples. I have
placed the lotusxsl.jar and openxml.jar files in the repository for the
zone which nominally holds Cocoon, have made cocoon.jar a repository of
said zone, and have made ApJservAction .xml
/servlets/org.apache.cocoon.Cocoon.
But I still get an internal server error when I try to run the example.
And then I look in the error_log file (where I merge in the jserv logs)
and see:
httpd: [Mon Mar 15 09:50:03 1999] [error] JServ: ajp11: Servlet Error:
Initialization error while loading the servlet: Error reading internal
resource: java.lang.NullPointerException. Archive is probably broken.
Should I recompile? (odd, since I'm using blackdown JDK 1.17a) Has
anyone else managed to deploy Cocoon? I already bugged Stefano once
about this and don't possess the gall to personally contact him again,
but I really want to experiment with this clever little servlet. Argh!
Why does God hate me? I was only kidding about liking John Tesh! ;-)
