Hello
I don't think it's because of the apache version because I had the
same error whith apache 1.3.6.
It seems that apxs doesn't work properly if you don't use perl 5.003
or greater .
Jserv configure file, uses the apache command
apxs -q PREFIX
If you try this command in a shell, it doesn't work !!!

PS : Is somebody know IBM Websphere Application Server ??
I ****HAVE TO*** use it instead of Jserv but I can't install it with
apache 1.3.6 .... AAARRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH !
