Joe -
Howdy - I'm running Apache 1.3.9, JServ 1.1b3, RH 6.0. The line you
mention looks like this in my jserv.conf:
LoadModule jserv_module /usr/local/apache/libexec/mod_jserv.so
and works fine. Hope this helps,
Yours,
Tom

JServ 1.1b3
OS - SUSE 6.2
Apache 1.3.9
JSDK 2.0
JDK 1.2
I have read the FAQ, and take it that its a work in progress, as it seems to
be a collection of emails, most out of date, prolly off this list, some with
questions, not all with answers. If you guys like, I will offer to help out
with it, as its an essential resource. I will suss out how and stuff today.
Installed apache 1.3.9, with DSO support (compiled in modules are mod_core.c
and mod_so.c), not a problem in the world, it works fine. Untarred JServ,
no bother yet. .Configured'd JServ, no problem, doing it DSO way and the
way the INSTALL file says so, not trying to be clever, but safe. That works
(had some problems with apxs for a while but got around it).
I run make, and it makes fine with no errors at all.
Make Install also works fine, without a single error, and everyone's happy
:)
I put the link to /etc/httpd/jserv/jserv.conf in the apache httpd.conf file.
All the patchs in the 3 relevant config files (httpd.conf, jserv.conf and
jserv.properties) are correct. They all have the relevant premissions
directory wise.
And expect things to work when I restart the server. They dont, and wont
work.
When I restart the server, it works fine. But when I go to
http://guinness/servlets/Hello nothing happens.
I had a look in the jserv.conf file, and saw the second section down from
the start.
Load Module jserv_module......
I uncomment that and go to restart the server and I get an error
./apachectl restart: configuration broken, ignoring restart
so I run ./apachectl configtest, and that tells me
Invalid command 'LoadModule', prehaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not
included in the server configuration...
I am stumped, please help or direct me :)
Joe
